ok so its a REALLLLLLLY long time with no posting - im not sure im cut out for regular blogging anyway!
since my last post I have finished class 4 of AM and moved into class 5 (short film preproduction).
You can see my reel below (Reel i took to Siggraph rather than a full progress reel)
As usual it all needs work :) - especially the acting stuff.
As for Class 5 short film preproduction - I have some mixed emotions I must admit. Personally I would prefer to just do two terms worth of assignments (like the new AM curriculum) but seems that wont happen so i just have to get the most out of the short film as I can.
To that end ive picked a story idea that allows me to animate a quadruped as well as a biped. Hopefully this should give me a bit of variety for my reel at the end (creature stuff seems especially important in the UK job market)
I might post up the 3d layout when thats done - depending how ashamed I am :)

Finished my shot
soo I finally finished my 1 character AM dialogue piece
Frankly I'm a little disappointed in it, I feel that the animation works OK.. the timing and posing is a little samey however.. I think i was a bit naive with the audio choice and the decision to go with a full body walking an acting style shot- a mid shot without walking would have allowed me to focus more on the acting I think..
However lesson learned and all that! onto the 2 character assignment.. I shall try to post up some possible audio clips shortly...
p.s feel free to crit the shot :) .. or tho I probably wont go back to it for a long time- Ive developed a bit of a hatred for it! - audio is a little out of sink also it seems

End of class 3!
So class 3 is over!
Been hard work even with only 1 and a half assignments- and whats more we only have a weekend off before class 4 starts!.
Antway its been my favorite class so far, feeling liek things are starting to click a little now. Mainly down to the brilliant mentor Mike Stern who works over a Dreamworks, and the other guys in my class.
Below is the progress reel with my work from terms 1,2 and 3
N.B the dialogue assignment will be finished in class 4 and i think that theres a syncing issue with on the dialogue that will be fixed next term!
